I cannot open the guide after I paused the program on my CM-7004
If you cannot open the guide when the 'Guide' button has been pressed, then it is likely that the CM-7004 is in the playback 'buffer' or 'time shift' state. e.g. If you press the pause button while watching live TV, and then 5 seconds later you press play, you will be watching that program, delayed by 5 seconds. When it is delayed, that means you are watching the program through the playback 'buffer'. This will also occur if you have pressed 'rewind'. That will put you in the playback buffer as well.
To exit the playback buffer;
- You can press the Fast Forward button until you catch up to the live TV programming.
- Or, you could just press the stop button on your remote to get back to live TV.
- (The 'Stop' button has the white square on it and is located to the left of the 'pause' button.
- Now when you press 'guide' button, it will open the program guide normally.
Please note; The CM-7004 has been designed as a Digital signal to Analog signal converter. Primarily the CM7004 is used to accommodate older Analog TV's that do not have an HD ATSC tuner, or a Digital TV/display, that does not have a Tuner installed.
Secondary to that, it also will record programs. This is an economy set top box and has limited Recording options.
