How do I update the firmware in my Stream+ Remote Control (CM-7600 CM7600)

There are two ways to see if your Remote Control needs a Firmware Update.

First method;

  • Press the Home button on your remote.
  • Look through the choices in the top row of block images.
  • There would be a block stating "Upgrade your Remote Control Firmware"

Second method;

  • Press the Home button on your remote.
  • Navigate down to Settings and select it.
  • Navigate down to "Channel Master Remote" and select it.
  • The 3rd item down is "Firmware Update".
  • If it is white, then there is an update available.
  • If it is grayed out, then it should tell you that it is 'Up to date'.

If new version is available, follow the instructions below.

  • Select "Upgrade your Remote Control Firmware" found in the 'Home screen'. Method #1.
  • Select  'Settings' in the Home screen>select "Channel Master Remote". Method #2.
  • Select "Firmware Update".
  • Next screen is "Firmware Update", select 'OK'.
  • You next see a warning/instruction, and select "Start Upgrading"
  • Next you'll see "Upgrading in progress".
  • Next "Upgrade finished, click 'OK' to finish". (Now press the OK button on your remote.)
  • Now when you go to the "Channel Master Remote" in the settings menu, the "Firmware Update' line will be grayed out and it should say '... is up to date'.
