There are a few reasons why the Manual Record feature is great to have on the DVR+ (CM-7500). If you are wanting to record a sporting event or a TV special that may go longer than the allotted time, setting up a manual recording is the best option. You can setup the DVR+ to record the length you want so you don’t miss anything if the program runs overtime. If you do not have your DVR+ connected to the internet and you want to create a recording but have limited guide data, you can use the Manual Record feature to be sure you won’t miss your favorite shows.
Please follow the steps below to set up a Manual Recording:
- On your remote, press Guide
- Navigate to, and highlight the 'program title' or beginning of the 'time slot' that you wish to record
- Select the program or time slot with the “OK” button
- Select “Create a Manual Recording”
- To make changes to any option, scroll down/up to highlight the option and then press “OK”. Use Left/Right arrows to make changes. Detailed steps below.
- Navigate down to "Start Time". Select OK button on remote.
- The hour is now highlighted. Use the left or right navigation arrows to change the hour. When the hour is correct, press the OK button on the remote. The highlight now moves to the minutes.
- Use the left/right navigation/arrow buttons to set the minutes. Once the correct minutes are showing, press the OK button.
- Navigate down to "End Time". Select OK button on remote.
- The hour is now highlighted. Use the left or right navigation arrows to change the hour. When the hour is correct, press the OK button on the remote. The highlight now moves to the minutes.
- Use the left/right navigations to set the minutes. Once the correct minutes are showing, press the OK button.
- Navigate down to Repeat and press OK. (Use this option if you want to set it up as a ‘series’.) Use the left or right navigation arrows to change the repeat frequency setting. Once it is correct, press the OK button.
- Navigate down to "Create" and press the OK button.
- Select “Series Schedule” press OK button, and you should see your recordings scheduled as “Active”, or “Pending”
- Press “Exit” on your remote to resume live TV programming.
- To check for scheduling success, press "Guide" on your remote control.
- There should be a red outline surrounding the selected Program Title or start/stop time.
- On your remote, press Menu>Select DVR>Schedule, and make certain that your recording is scheduled to record and confirm it is scheduled to record without any conflicts. (Conflicts = other recordings scheduled during that same time.)
