When I Connect the Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier I can no Longer Receive Channels. (CM-7777v3)

The Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier (CM-7777v3) is a very high gain preamplifier and if you are too close to the broadcast towers the Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier (CM-7777v3) can over-amplify/over-drive your TV Tuner. Tuners are designed to accept signal levels from +11dBmv to -11dBmv. 0dBmv signal level is ideal.

We see this issue infrequently because a customer wants the amplifier with the most gain, but with OTA signals more amplification is not always better. Having too much gain can cause intermittent issues where one day the amplifier works, and then another day it does not work at all. That being said, 99% of Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifiers (CM-7777v3) sent in for warranty service actually have no issues in our lab environment when tested under normal signal levels.

If you live within 60 miles or so from any broadcast towers we suggest using a Titan 2 Medium Gain Preamplifier (CM-7778v3). If you already purchased the Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier (CM-7777v3) please contact who you purchased the device from if you are within the return policy, and set up a return, and instead use the Titan 2 Medium Gain Preamplifier (CM-7778v3) in place of a Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier (CM-7777v3).

If you are adamant that your installation requires a Titan 2 High Gain Preamplifier (CM-7777v3)  you can always send it in for warranty service/testing if you are within the 1 year warranty period and we'll be happy to test the amplifier for you. If the unit tests good, we will send it back to you as is.
