Please try re-installing fresh batteries in the remote control. The remote control requires qty. 2, CR-2032 type batteries. Please note that these types of batteries can go bad even when they are not installed in a device. So if you have a set laying around the house, try them but you cant be sure that they are actually good so we do recommend fresh new batteries. You'll likely need to replace them once or twice a year.
When the batteries are good and you press a DVR function button, the (CM-7500) power button on the top/Right on the remote, should shine brightly. Bright enough to see in a brightly lit room.
Some common symptoms when the coin batteries are low.
1. After the remote has not been use for some amount of time, over night, you press a DVR+ button and you get no response.
a. The red light under the DVR+ power button on the remote is very low.
b. If you press the power button a number of times the red light will now shine brightly and the DVR+ will power up.
c. A similar symptom; If you press and hold down a DVR button, after a few seconds the light will shine brightly and the remote will operate normally again.
2. After the remote has not been use for some amount of time, you press a DVR+ button and you get no response.
a. you remove the batteries and reinsert them. Now the remote operates normally.
3. After the remote has not been use for some amount of time, you press a DVR+ button and you get no response.
a. You measure the batteries out of the remote. Even if they measure over 3 volts, this is not a valid test. They must be tested under load.
b. Replace with good quality CR2032 batteries like Duracell or Energizer.
c. Now the remote operates normally.
4. After the remote has not been use for some amount of time, you press a DVR+ button and you get no response.
a. You press the TV power button and that does operate your TV.
b. Replace the batteries. Now the remote operates normally.
